A tour around the north of Lanzarote holds a wealth of scenic postcards. Island of contrasts by itself, this variety of perspectives increases in this geographical area. ruta de los volcanes”. La terminología obedece a la grandiosidad de
Timanfaya (suroeste), uno de los parques nacionales españoles más visitados. El
cono sur de Lanzarote (en su cala este) añade Los Ajaches a la inmensidad
natural de Timanfaya. Por otro lado, su punto geográfico más al sur resulta
seguro de sol y playa.
The sightseeing

of the most visited Spanish National Parks. The south cone of Lanzarote (in the

El centro geográfico de Lanzarote tiene un sabor
eminentemente cultural. En esta zona se ha concentrado la mayor parte de sus
habitantes y sus actividades económicas tradicionales, la agricultura y la
pesca principalmente. A estas fuentes de supervivencia rinde tributo César
Manrique con su peculiar Monumento al Campesino. Además, la antigua capital
lanzaroteña, Teguise, y la actual, Arrecife, se localizan en esta franja de
territorio. El entorno natural en el que se desenvuelve la vida en el interior
de la isla cobra toda su envergadura en La Geria y Caleta de Famara.
The
geographical centre of Lanzarote is known for its cultural surroundings. Within
this area its inhabitants and their traditional economic activities are based
upon agriculture and fishing however, we must also pay tribute to Cesar
Manrique for his peculiar yet popular Monumento al Campesino.
La Geria (Ruta del vino) / Wine Route:
La Geria se
localiza en el suroeste de la isla, en el municipio de Yaiza. Bordea por su
cara este al Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. La unión de estas dos significativas
piezas de suelo conforma una de las estampas paisajísticas más imponentes de
Canarias. Es un paraje natural protegido que ocupa una superficie de 5.255,5 hectáreas .
Resulta un paisaje singular y embriagador por la gran extensión de cenizas
volcánicas, procedentes de la erupción de Timanfaya entre 1730-1736, que bañan
todo este escenario.
The Geria is
located in the southwest of the island, in the municipality of Yaiza. Runs
along the eastside of the Timanfaya National Park. The union of these two
significant areas constitute one of the most impressive landscape pictures of
Canaries. It is a nature reserve which covers an area of 5255.5 hectares . It
is a singular and intoxicating landscape of the vast expanse of volcanic ash
from the eruption of Timanfaya between 1730-1736, that bathe this whole
scenario.
Salinas de Janubio-Los Hervideros-Charco de los Ciclos:
Un triángulo paisajístico de gran envergadura el que se concita en la costa suroeste de Lanzarote. Muy cerca del atrayente parque nacional de Timanfaya, constituye el complemento perfecto de una ruta turística por el sur de la isla. Las Salinas de Janubio conforman una de las estampas más bellas de las muchas que se amontonan en la retina después de visitar Lanzarote.
