¡Importante revelación de una investigación realizada
por un biólogo y dada a conocer en la Universidad de Harvard!
Una investigación ha revelado la existencia en el Túnel de
la Atlántida, dentro del tubo volcánico que forma los Jameos del Agua en
Lanzarote, del anélido (gusano) del género Protodrilus, considerado “único
en el mundo”. Así lo ha anunciado la dirección de los centros de Arte,
Cultura y Turismo del Cabildo de Lanzarote.
La investigación se desarrolló bajo la dirección del biológo
Alejandro Martínez, quien culmina su doctorado en la Universidad en Dinamarca,
y este hallazgo ya ha sido dado a conocer en el congreso de morfología de
invertebrados celebrado recientemente en la Universidad de Harvard.
Este gusano se suma así a ‘jameíto’, nombre con el que se
conoce comúnmente al cangrejo blanco y ciego (Munidopsis
polymorpha) que es endémico de los Jameos del Agua y también único en el mundo.

Important revelation of an investigation realized by a biologist and
announced in the University of Harvard!
An investigation has revealed
the existence in the Tunnel of the Atlantis, inside the volcanic tube that
forms the Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote, of the anélido´s (worm)
of the genre Protodrilus´s, considered “only one in the world”. This
way it has been announced by the direction of the centers of Art, Culture and
Tourism of the inter-island council of Lanzarote.
The investigation was
developed under the guidance of the biologist by Alejandro Martínez,
who reaches its doctorate in the University in Denmark, and this find has been
already announced in the celebrated congress of morphology of invertebrates
recently in the University of Harvard.
This worm joins this way to
“jameíto”, name with the one that knows each other commonly to the white
and blind crab (Munidopsis polymorpha) that is endemic of
the Jameos del Agua and also only one in the world.
