Tradicional fiestas de La aguapata con su carrera de burros en El Islote-Lanzarote

Lanzarote es tradición y cultura nos lo recuerdan cada año los vecinos de El Islote, bella localidad del municipio de San Bartolomé que se asienta sobre las coladas y otras lavas y escorias que antaño escupieron los volcanes de esta Isla en aquel sitio.

El Islote no tiene iglesia ni santo. Y la mayoría de sus vecinos, además de aplicarse en sus diversas ocupaciones laborales, viven volcados en las tareas agrícolas y cotidianas que demandan el cuidado de los arenados, las vides y los trasiegos en sus bodegas. También en atender debidamente a las bestias y más animales que poseen. 

Todos los años, y para festejar el término de las labores propias de la vendimia, unas veces finalizando el solsticio de verano y otras recién comienza el equinoccio de otoño. El Islote se abre simple y con festiva dignidad a sus propios vecinos y a las gentes de Lanzarote, su cultura y sus tradiciones para, entre todos, celebrar y compartir las Fiestas del Aguapata.

Desde que en 1996 se celebraran casi de forma improvisada por vez primera, las Fiestas del Aguapata han ganado muchos enteros en arraigo y popularidad. Sobre todo el concurso de aguapatas, la fiesta con parrandas estilo El Islote y la carrera de burros, que constituyen los tres platos fuertes de su programa de las fiestas. Y los preferidos por el público que las siguen.

The tradicional festivals of the Aguapata´s and the donkey race in El Islote in Lanzarote

Lanzarote is a tradition and culture it is reminded to us every year by the neighbourhood of The El Islote´s, beautiful locality of the municipality of San Bartolomé who settles on the gatecrashers and other lava and slag that formerly the volcanoes of this Island spat in that place.
The Islet has neither church nor saint. And most of its neighbors, in addition to applying themselves in its diverse labor occupations, live overturned in the agricultural and daily tasks that demand the care of the agricultural land, the vines and the moves in its wine vaults. Also in attending properly to the beasts and more animals who possess.

Since in 1996 they were celebrated almost of unexpected form for the first time, the Holidays of the Aguapata´s have gained many points in rooting and popularity. Especially the contest of aguapatas´s, the holiday with binges style Islet and the career of donkeys, which constitute three main courses of its program of the holidays. And the preferred ones for the public that they continue them.
