Cultural Week in Costa Teguise in Lanzarote, 12th to 19th November 2011
Costa Teguise is hosting a week of cultural events from this Saturday 12th November. The programme of events is listed below, everyone is welcome to participate. The IV Edition of the Cultural Week is organised by the Cultural Association "Cortijo del Majo" in conjunction with the Tourism and Culture departments at the Ayuntamiento´s of Teguise.


Saturday 12th

12:00 Street band with carnival figures around Costa Teguise.

16.00 III “Cortijo del Majo” Canarian Bowls Tournament by the recreational facilities next to the Los Zocos Hotel.

Sunday 13th

10:00-15:00 Trekking departing from Los charcos Beach route “trek around Costa Teguise” and return to the point of departure, bring adequate footwear and water, classed as low to medium difficulty. Approx 10 kilometres, refreshments will be available at the finish.

Monday 14th

20:30 Final of the III “Cortijo del Majo” Canarian Bowls Tournament by the recreational facilities next to the Los Zocos Hotel.

Tuesday 15th

19:00 Chat about a book based on a true story, Cross of the sea 30 years on, prologue by the only living survivor Miguel Angel Rodriguez García and co-author Juan Antonio de la Hoz. Held at the Hotel Salinas in Costa Teguise.

Wednesday 16th

17.00-20.00 Skateboard and graffiti workshop at the skate park in Costa Teguise by Lanzarote Bay Hotel.

Thursday 17th

18:00 Street band with carnival figures around Costa Teguise ending at the Celeste Apartments parking area followed by theatrical play Lacana al aire de dos peletos´s.

Friday 18th

19.00 Dancing by the European Champions Ruben Alonso and Tatiana Niz, followed by guitarist Antonio de la Rosa at the Celeste Apartments parking area

Saturday 19th

16:00-22:00 International Village Day different stands from different countries showing typical delicacies, craftwork and folklore at the Celeste Apartments parking area.
